Hi… I’m Charlie. I’m a black Lab mix, and I’ve learned something sad since being in rescue: dogs like me get overlooked. We’re sweet, loyal, gentle… but we blend into the background while others get chosen first. Day after day, I watch families walk by, hoping today is the day someone sees me. I promise I’m more than my color. I’m a best-friend-in-waiting. I’m the dog who will love you with his whole heart, curl up at your feet, and be so grateful you chose him. All I want is a couch to nap on, a hand to hold, and a family to finally call my own. Please don’t let me be the dog who waits forever. Come meet me. See me. Choose me. I’m ready to go home.

San Saba County Friends of Animals's Adoption Policy

Prospective adopters are asked to complete an adoption application. The application is reviewed by our adoptions committee. We typically check vet and personal references and confirm landlord permission, if applicable. If the adoption is approved, SSCFOA and the adopter enter into an adoption contract. An adoption fee of $50 to $100 is required.. Visits are by appointment only because we do not have a physical facility.
