Charlie's Story

Charlie / M / 2Y / 35lbs / Basset Hound mix / Fostered in Wiarton

Charlie may have short legs, but his personality is absolutely MASSIVE! This one-of-a-kind pup is equal parts adorable and hilarious – with his long body, short legs, and big head, he's got a look that's uniquely his own (think Frankenstein's dog, but make it cute!). He's a certified goofball who will keep you laughing every single day.

Independent, cuddly, outgoing, energetic, and playful! He's the perfect balance of a dog who loves to be near you but can also entertain himself. He's confident, friendly, and fearless – nothing phases this little guy (except windshield wipers, which completely baffle him!).

- Fully crate trained and potty trained
- Communicates when he needs to go out by whining
- Knows sit, come, and his crowd-pleasers: dancing for treats and sitting pretty!
- Perfect leash manners with zero reactivity
- No separation anxiety – handles 8+ hours alone in his crate like a champ
- No resource guarding whatsoever

Daily Routine:
Charlie gets 5-6 potty breaks, two 10-15 minute walks, and 1-2 hours of playtime (tug, chase, and romping around). He has medium to high energy and would love an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life!

- Excellent with other dogs and would LOVE a canine companion
- Good with cats (though he's very interested in playing with them!)
- Kids 15+
- Loves meeting new people – everyone's a friend, especially if you have treats!

Charlie is a shoe chewer and likes to get into things, so he needs to stay in his crate when home alone.
Charlie is looking for a loving family who will continue his training journey and give him the active lifestyle he enjoys.
