Charlie's Story

To meet Charlie, call Karon at 281-0330 (hm) or 844-8283 (wk). Arrangements can be made to meet him at an adoption clinic. It should not be assumed he will be at the regular Saturday adoption clinics unless by previous arrangement with Karon, his foster Mom.

Charlie is the most amusing, cuddly and attentive companion you can imagine! Probably born in 2007 (late) or 2008, Charlie is a little of this and a little of that. Probably primarily Terrier and Basset Hound, this adorable, scruffy looking guy is well-behaved and good with kids, cats, and other dogs. He is a happy-go-lucky, lovable boy who will follow you around and snuggle on your feet or next to you on the couch while you watch a movie or read a book. Charlie is about 4 and was rescued from the Albq. shelter early in 2009. We adopted him out in 2009 almost right away and he went to a great family where he has been loved and well-trained. He went to school and learned to wait, sit, down, and he comes readily when called. He has a touch of independence like many terriers, but he is usually very, very well-behaved and responsive. He's crate, house and doggie door trained. He has been to doggie day care where he got good reports. Unfortunately, just recently in Dec. 2011, almost four years after his adoption, he became the victim of divorce. His human mom could no longer spend enough time with him and he was very lonely and unhappy. He dotes on companionship, both human and canine, and his family did what was best for him and returned him so he could find someone who could spend the time with him that he needs. He came back to his original foster mom, and she has been reminded what a fun little dog this guy is. Although he wouldn't win any confirmation classes, he does get lots of chuckles along with "what a cute little dog" and "what is he?" everywhere he goes, 'cause he is so extremely eye-catching with his stubby little legs and his whiskery, expressive face. He is a gorgeous brindle color with lots of chrome (white) on his belly and chest and it makes him quite the little man. With his personality and behavior, he is a real keeper. This mellow little fellow is looking for a very loving new family who will keep him safe and spend a lot of time with him.

Charlie is a courtesy listing only.
