Charlie's Story
Charlie has claimed a spot at the shelter, and it is the top of an office desk. He stretches out on the paperwork between the binders and the paper towels and watches everyone who walks by, like he is the one in charge of the files.

He is a ten year old Yorkshire Terrier with a gold face, a long scruffy beard, and two ears that never quite agree on which way to point. His coat is still growing back along his back and sides after a rough case of flea dermatitis, which has been treated, so the dog you meet will only get fluffier from here.

Charlie is a small dog who likes to be up where his people are. He is relaxed enough with the staff to spend his days in the office with them, parked on a desk and keeping an eye on the room. He would suit a quiet adult home where someone is happy to give him a spot on the couch and let him run the place.

A few honest things before you apply. Charlie takes a little time with new people, so he does best with someone patient who lets him make the first move. He is not a fan of big dogs, and a home without one suits him better. He also needs to stay on a leash whenever he is outside, since he is a small dog who can find his way out of a fence.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
