Charlie's Story

Thank you for your interest in adopting Charlie. Charlie was rescued in Bibb county in August 2024 after someone dropped him
And another dog on the side of a rural highway. The dogs waited there for over a week until we rescued them!

Charlie is 3.5-4 years old now and weighs 53 lbs.

We know Charlie well and we still hold hope that he will find his home. He is crate trained to perfection and he's house trained.

Charlie has only been around one school aged child. He is a kid safe dog for older kids.

He is great with other dogs, but he's not comfortable with cats. He barks at cats he's seen.

Most Alabama mixed breeds are several breeds, sometimes a dozen breeds. We don't know with Charlie. He may be a pointer mix, a boxer mix, a staffi mix, or all of the above. He's handsome, has no skin or coat issues, besides a scar on his neck that was there when we found him. It's significant and healed long ago, but it won't be noticeable with a bandanna or wide collar.

Charlie wants a relationship with his person. He enjoys attention and petting and lets you know how happy he is with the best wiggle butt!

Charlie is fostered with other dogs, male and female and has no resource issues. He plays with them all and shares toys and antlers.

Charlie eats 2 cups of dry dog food and a few biscuits each day.

He's neutered, rabies, heartworm negative, distemper/parvo/bordetella vaccines, and he recieves monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Serious adopters should fill out the application online. We can set up a local area meet and greet or FaceTime first.

$200 helps this rescue recover some of his medical and care costs so that we can rescue another dog like Charlie.

Copy and paste the link into your browser.

https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157
