Charlie's Story

If you’re interested, please fill out an application at diggs4dogs.com.

Charlie is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd located in Hurricane, Utah, and he is an incredibly sweet, snuggly boy who just wants to be close to his people. Weighing about 60 pounds, Charlie has been with his family since he was 8 weeks old and has grown up as a loved indoor dog with backyard playtime. Unfortunately, HOA complaints about his barking have forced his family to make the heartbreaking decision to find him a new home—even though he is truly a great dog.

Charlie is a bit shy by nature, which his breeder noted early on, and he tends to be a homebody. He doesn’t socialize much with strangers and will bark at delivery drivers or unfamiliar people outside the home, but he is not aggressive. Inside his family circle, he is gentle, submissive, and extremely affectionate. He lives with three young children under the age of seven and is wonderful with them. He also does great with other animals—he currently lives with a Great Dane and absolutely loves cats.

He has an average energy level and enjoys playing in the backyard with the kids, lounging near his people, and going on occasional walks. Charlie is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and knows commands like sit, lay down, and roll over. When left alone, he does fine, though he may occasionally chew on a child’s toy. At night, he prefers sleeping right next to his person on the floor.

Charlie would thrive in a home where he can get regular walks, lots of reassurance, and plenty of cuddle time. He is especially well-suited for a family who values affection and understands that a shy dog just needs patience and love to feel secure.

If you’re interested, please fill out an application at diggs4dogs.com.
