Charlie's Story

Charlie may be tiny at just 5 pounds, but this handsome 8-year-old Chihuahua has a heart that's ready to grow.

Charlie came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation involving 130 dogs. While he's understandably shy in new situations, curiosity often wins out. He's one of the braver little survivors, quietly watching the world around him and taking small, courageous steps toward trusting people every day.

Because Charlie has always found comfort in other dogs, he needs another friendly small dog in his forever home. A confident canine companion will help him continue to build confidence and discover that life outside the hoarding house can be full of love, soft beds, and gentle hands.

Charlie is crate trained, potty pad trained, and rides nicely in the car. He's still figuring out what a leash is all about, so his new family should be prepared to continue introducing him to the world at his own pace. Cats are unknown, and due to his timid nature, he's looking for a home without small children.

And did we mention he's simply adorable? With his tiny size, expressive eyes, and sweet little face, Charlie has a way of melting hearts without even trying.

Charlie isn't searching for excitement-he's searching for security. A patient family, a confident little dog friend, and a peaceful home are all he needs to continue blossoming into the loyal companion he's meant to be.

If you're willing to let Charlie move at his own pace, you'll discover that the sweetest friendships are sometimes the ones that take a little time to bloom.
Please apply here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog

His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

We are located in Bloomington, IL
We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state.
Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt.

Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Better yet, help speed up the adoption process by also sending us your vet records, and having your references e-mail us at Deebysrescue@gmail.com

For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm
