Charlie is in a foster home in Ft Worth TX
Transport is arrange by our rescue post adoption

We at Abby Road Rescue and sister rescue Furry Sidekick Rescue are honored to be working alongside Karen Perl, who has worked tirelessly to save dogs in need. While these dogs are not directly in our rescue care, we are courtesy posting on her behalf to help them find the loving homes they deserve. .

NO Ties outs
NO electric fences

Application is required. This sweet, energetic boy was left at a shelter and sadly ended up on the euthanasia list due to lack of space. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and is now ready to find his forever home.

Charlie is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, crate trained, and fully potty trained. He has a fun-loving, playful personality and absolutely loves playing ball. He’ll happily chase and return any ball for another throw—except tennis balls! Those are his favorite, and he enjoys a good game of keep-away with them.

Because of his size and enthusiasm, Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as he may accidentally knock over small kids in his excitement. He would thrive with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures. He would make an excellent hiking or running partner.

Charlie rides well in the car and does not struggle with anxiety. He tends to prefer female dogs over males. He has not been cat tested, but his high energy level may be a bit much for a feline companion.

He is a very smart boy and already knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and nice/gentle when taking treats. He is still working on “down.” With his intelligence and eagerness to learn, he could easily excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work.

Charlie is ready to be someone’s loyal, adventurous companion. Could he be your new furry best friend?

On behalf of Karen Perl, the adoption fee is $350. Transport can be arranged after the adoption is finalized. If you prefer to arrange your own transport, the adoption fee will remain the same. Submitting your application – that's Step 1 Step 2: Group Text Introduction We’ll start a group text chat with the dog’s foster or rescuer. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know more about the dog. If you'd like, we can also set up a video meet-and-greet through our phones for a more personal connection. Step 3: Virtual Home Visit We'll schedule a Google Meet or FaceTime call to virtually tour your home. We'll need to see common living areas and the yard—no need to show bedrooms. Please have a piece of mail with your address visible during the call. After this step I will call your references. Step 4: Adoption Contract Once everything checks out, I’ll submit your application to the board along with my recommendation for approval. While the final decision is up to them, they typically go with my recommendation. Step 5: Final Details This step includes a conversation about ownership, adoption fees, any applicable deposits, and transport arrangements (if needed) could be 5-30 days depending on time frame.
