Charlie's Story
CHARLIE DESERVES A FOREVER HOME!
We received an urgent call from one of our vets about a dog whose owner wanted him euthanized. The owner claimed Charlie had bitten off half his own tail and she refused to pay for treatment. Our vet was skeptical of that story, and we feared he had been abused.
One look at Charlie’s sad eyes and we knew we had to help.
Charlie’s tail eventually healed, but more challenges appeared. He began having digestive issues, and after extensive testing, we learned he was born with a liver shunt. This means Charlie will need medication (Lactulose and Ursodiol) and a special liver-supportive diet for the rest of his life.
Thankfully, one of the vet techs stepped up to foster him, giving him the care and love he needed to recover. And Charlie? He has shown nothing but sweetness. He loves people, kids, and other dogs and his gentle spirit shines through despite his rough start.
It’s been a long road, but Charlie is finally ready for his forever home.
