Charger's Story

Hi, I'm Charger. I didn't know my name when I arrived at my foster home, but I do now. I'm 4 yrs old, neutered male, and ~ 70#. They tell me I'm a handsome guy, but I already knew that!

In my previous life, my job was making puppies. I didn't know there was another world beyond that, so I have a lot to learn. I'm eager to please. I'm learning to come when called. I love going for walks and chasing a tennis ball. I love to swim, even in the cold pond water. I know how to do my business outside.

I love people and think everyone should pet me! I'm a happy guy with a happy tail, and always up for any adventure. I follow my people around, so I don't miss anything fun they might do. But also know how to relax with you. I really like dog beds.

I eat and sleep in a wire crate with no complaints. But I'm not fond of the plastic airline crates. I do okay when my people leave me for up to four hours, but I will fuss a little. It helps if you give me a special treat when you leave; I love peanut butter! I enjoy exploring people's belongings, which is why it's unsafe for me to roam freely around the house without supervision. People say I'm like a toddler trapped in the body of a 4-year-old because I tend to put everything in my mouth, but I am doing better with that.

I’m often called a bulldozer in the house because I don’t let anything stand in my way, including the two Labrador girls that live here. I simply go under them if they’re standing and over them when they’re lying down! I get along great with the two Labs and don’t pay much attention to the cats that also live here.

While I am great with the girls, I haven't been around male dogs, so if you have a male dog, a meet and greet is a must--it's a must anyway, with any dog.

I'm having fun where I'm living now, but I know I'm not meant to stay here forever. They tell me I need to find my furever home so they have room to help another Lab, just like they did for me.

Are you my furever home? If you aren't gone all day every day, love to hang out with me, walk and hike, enjoy games of fetch, and love the water, I'm your guy!

If you'd like to meet me, and if you are an approved LELRR adopter, refer to the instructions in your approval email.

Otherwise, please fill out an application at:

https://www.lelrr.org/adopt.html

Be prepared to provide proof of up to date vaccinations and year round heartworm preventative for any current or recent pets that you have owned.

Adoption radius 150 driving miles from Medina OHIO
