Chandler's Story

Meet Chandler, a gentle and loving Dachshund–Chihuahua mix with a heart full of warmth. This sweet boy has a calm, quiet nature that makes him the ideal companion for peaceful days and cozy nights.
Chandler is still discovering how wonderful the world can be—especially when it includes a soft, heated bed to curl up in! He’s also learning how fun leashed walks are, taking in the sights and smells as his confidence grows. He’s friendly and easygoing, getting along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and cats, and he’s even met goats and horses without missing a beat. Like many small pups, he prefers a bit of space around new dogs at first, but once he feels safe, he quickly joins in for playtime and cuddles.
This little gentleman is house-trained, dog-door trained, and crate-trained—truly a dream housemate. Chandler craves attention and wags his tail happily when spoken to, but he’s still learning that touch can be just as wonderful. When reached for, he will scurry away, tail wagging the whole time. He will need a fenced yard as catching him can be tricky right now. With patience and gentle reassurance, he will be an incredible companion. Once in your arms, he wags nonstop—a touching mix of nerves and pure joy.
Chandler will thrive in a patient home that allows him to build trust at his own pace and experience the love he’s been longing for. With his mellow spirit and tender heart, he’s ready to bring calm, comfort, and unconditional affection to his forever family.

Fostered in Wellington, Colorado — fully vetted and ready for adoption.

Learn more or apply to adopt at www.mysecondhomerescue.org 🐾❤️
