Chance's Story

Meet Chance!

Chance was found wandering the side of a highway in the rain on Tuesday (1/17/23), and was picked up by a Good Samaritan. He was emaciated at 52lbs, filthy, and had a large open puncture wound on his leg that was covered in gentian violet spray. His eyes were goopy, and his right eye was ulcerated. Chance also had fleas. If that wasn’t enough, he also tested positive for heartworm disease. The vet estimated that Chance is around 3 years old.

In just 3 months, Chance has gained 20 lbs and still has a bit more weight to put on his bones! Chance is a gentle and lovable giant. He gets along with ALL 12 Dog Squad pups, and shows absolutely no reactivity toward other dogs in public. He certainly doesn’t realize how big he is and has become an oversized lap baby.

Chance would do well in a home with adults only or with a family with children 12+ y/o. Chance is STRONG, and will easily (and accidentally) knock over a small child or elderly person.

This big ole hunkalove received his first round of heartworm treatment the week of 4/18/23. He will receive 2 additional rounds of heartworm treatment 30 days after the initial injection. Once he completes heartworm treatment, Chance will be neutered followed by eye surgery to correct entropion.

Learn more about Chance on our website

https://www.dogsquadsc.org/chance

FOLLOW US
•Facebook: @dogsquadsc
•Instagram: @dogsquad_sc
