Chance's Story
Meet Chance!

Chance was sadly found by one of our officers muzzled and tied to a tree in a local park.

Chance is a large (90+lbs), powerful breed, and we are going to be very selective with who can adopt him. We are looking for someone who has previously owned a large bully/mastiff breed dog before, and preference will be given to someone who has experience working with or previously owning dogs with behavioural quirks. Chance has met with our trainer, and completed 3 training sessions for his reactivity towards strangers, and did wonderfully! He will need to complete one final training session with his new adoptive family to help keep everything consistent with his training, and to help him transition from shelter life to home life. Chance will require 2-3 meet and greets before he will be comfortable enough with any potential adopters.

Chance loves playing and running after lots of toys, and he enjoys a good cuddle when it's time to relax. Chance is very athletic and will need a few walks and lots of playtime to burn off all his energy. He has tested well with dogs in the shelter, and will greet dogs nicely on leash. He would likely do well with a canine sibling at home! Chance is still working on his leash manners, and staff here utilize a gentle leader to help with his pulling on walks. Chance will also need to go to an adult only home at this time.

If you are interested in giving Chance an opportunity to join your forever family please call Mississauga Animal Services (905)896-5864 opt 3 to book an appointment.
