Chai/Courtesy Post's Story

** Chai is not at the Medfield Animal Shelter. Please email Katebrady123@verizon.net if you are interested in learning more about Chai. **

Chai is a beautiful 4 yr old 88 lb African Boerboel. She is sweet natured and very well behaved. She loves being out in the snow- loves the woods too but is also totally happy curled up at her owner's feet. She likes dogs and people and will want to meet them, given her owners okay. She’s lived with older children; and for younger children, she prefers to sit next to them and be cuddled. She’s never been around cats but doesn’t try to chase them when outside. Chai was obedience trained from early age, then was started on training as a mobility service dog. The owner’s need for a service dog changed, so Chai became the family pet. Unfortunately, her owner’s family situation changed and they felt it was unfair to have to board her for long periods of time. Because Chai is a large guardian breed and has had service dog training, we’re looking for an adopter who has had experience with strong guardian breeds and someone who can work with her need to ‘have a job’, such as K9 Nosework. Because Chai enjoys other dogs and loves to play with them, we think she’ll do well in a new home with another dog. Chai is scheduled to be spayed at the end of January.

** Chai is not at the Medfield Animal Shelter.
