Chai's Story
Meet Chai!

Age: 6 months old
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Sex: Female, not yet spayed
Weight: 20 lbs
Fostered In: Woodstock, ON

Personality & Story

Chai is a sweet little survivor who came into rescue after being found malnourished with her siblings. Despite her difficult start, she is making wonderful progress in foster care and is finally learning how to be a puppy.

Chai can be shy and fearful around new people, especially children and busy environments. However, when she feels safe, her personality completely changes! She is playful, affectionate, goofy, and full of puppy energy. Her foster mom gets to see her zoomies, silly antics, and even her little maligator moments!

Home Life:
Chai is spending more time outside her crate, eating regularly, and adapting very well to house training. She loves her blankets and will happily curl up and relax once she feels comfortable.

She does best in a quiet, calm home where she can build confidence at her own pace.

Dogs:
Chai does well with calm dogs and has been settling nicely with her foster dog sibling, Sadie. Another respectful, gentle dog could help her continue gaining confidence, although she could also thrive as an only dog.

Cats:
Not yet cat tested, would likely do well with proper introductions

Kids:
Best for a home with older children 10+

Ideal Home:
- A quiet home without young children
- Patience and gentle guidance
- Continued confidence-building and socialization
- A predictable routine
- Someone who will allow her to approach new people at her own pace

Chai has gone from being completely shut down to coming out of her crate willingly, playing, zooming, cuddling, and showing us who she really is.

She doesn't need someone to rush her. She needs someone willing to give her the time to bloom
