CHAI's Story

Meet Chai Your Little Shadow with the Biggest Heart

If you've ever wanted a puppy who simply wants to be wherever you are, Chai may just be your perfect match. This sweet six-month-old hound mix has one simple goal in life, to be close to his people. Whether you're cooking dinner, watching TV, or relaxing after a long day, Chai is happiest curled up nearby on a cozy blanket, making sure he never misses a moment with his favorite humans.

Chai has made incredible progress in foster care and is already almost fully house trained! He can comfortably go 4-5 hours during the day without an accident and sleeps through the night without needing a potty break. He's learning quickly because he's eager to please and loves earning treats for a job well done.

While Chai can be a little unsure when left alone, his foster has discovered that he settles himself within just a few minutes once he realizes everything is okay. He's still getting used to crate life, but each day brings more confidence.

Unlike many puppies, Chai isn't interested in chewing up the house. Give him his beloved Christmas tree toy or Mickey Mouse plush, and he's perfectly content. He's gentle taking treats from children, has no food aggression, and happily shares with other dogs. He also rides wonderfully in the car, enjoys walks, and gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids of all ages.

Chai at a Glance
Approximately 6 months old
Hound mix
Almost completely house trained
Crate training in progress
Sleeps through the night
Medium energy with a wonderful off-switch
Great with dogs, cats, and children
Loves walks and would enjoy hiking adventures
Learning "sit" and "stay"
Rides quietly in the car
Chai's Perfect Home

Chai would thrive with a family that enjoys having a true companion by their side. He's affectionate, eager to learn, and happiest when he feels included in everyday life. Whether he's following you around the house or cuddled at your feet, Chai has a special way of making every day feel a little brighter.

His foster says it best:

"Chai is the snuggle bug who always wants to feel included. He loves carrying around his Christmas tree toy or his Mickey Mouse, and he's become my kids' favorite walking and playtime buddy."

While Chai and Matcha have enjoyed growing up together in foster care, they are not required to be adopted together. Each boy is ready to find a loving forever home of his own.
