Chaco's Story

COURTESY POST

Meet Chaco, a handsome 2-year-old Doberman. He is fully natural (uncropped ears and natural tail), neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

Chaco is a wonderful dog who deserves a home that truly understands him and can give him the environment where he will thrive.

About Chaco:

- Loves to cuddle and be close to his person.
- Gives lots of kisses and wants to be wherever you are.
- Very playful and loves to run and play with toys.
- Enjoys walks but could benefit from additional leash training.
- Knows basic commands including sit, down, and somewhat stay.
- Doesn't enjoy water but will patiently let you bathe him once he trusts you.
- Extremely loyal and protective of the people he loves.

Please read carefully to make sure he is the right fit.

Chaco is a very nervous dog and needs someone patient who understands that trust takes time. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly affectionate and devoted.

He does not do well with male humans or male dogs. He does well with females after proper introductions, but I believe he would be happiest as the only dog. If there is another dog in the home, it should ideally be a calm female, and introductions must be done slowly and correctly.

Chaco was rescued he was about six months old and he has been a nervous dog since the day I brought him home. I don't know what his early life was like, but despite his anxiety, he has so much love to give. In the right home, his personality truly shines.

My ideal home for Chaco:

- Female adopter or female-led household.
- No male dogs.
- No male humans living in the home.
- Someone experienced with nervous or protective dogs.
- Someone willing to give him time to build trust.
- A home where he can be the center of someone's world.

This decision is being made because I love him, not because I don't. I want him to have the best life possible.

Thank you for considering giving this amazing boy the life he deserves.
