CECE's Story

Cece (A126120) is a 4-year-old Pitbull x Lab who weighed 45.6 pounds on intake! 04/28/26 Cece was surrendered to the shelter due to her needing medical care. She was seen by the shelter vet and started on an appropriate treatment plan. While she gets the help she needs, Cece has been spending time in a wonderful foster home. In foster, it was noted that Cece is a bit too interested in the cats. She had no experience in her surrendering home with cats and would most like do best in a home without feline companions. Cece was said to do well with other dogs and loves to play! She was also said to get along with people of all ages, including babies and children. However, it was noted that she likes to jump on people. Cece was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and knows her basic commands. She also rides well in a car! Cece’s surrendering owner stated that when left alone it was brought to her attention that Cece barked frequently when left in the apartment by herself. This is something to be aware of if you live in close proximity to your neighbors. Cece is a sweet girl who was said to be happy all the time, and would like to find her new place to call home. If you are interested in meeting Cece, please let us know! 03/11/22 Cece was surrendered to the shelter because her owner didn't have enough time to devote to her training and care. Cece's owner stated that she is a very good pup, although she doesn't always know her strength or boundaries and while she enjoys playing with babies, children, adults and other dogs, she can be a bit rough and overbearing. Cece would likely benefit from some structured supervision with other well mannered adult dogs, so she can start modeling her own appropriate behavior off of theirs. She should definitely attend a basic obedience class with her new family to foster those good girl tendencies! Cece has never been around cats, little critters or livestock, and may do best in a home without smaller animals due to her rough play. Cece is said to be kennel trained; her owner said she will whine and go to the door when she needs to potty, but may need help finishing off her housebreaking in normal puppy fashion. Cece is said to ride well in a car, and is generally outgoing and friendly. She can get into a bit of trouble jumping on people, getting into garbage and chewing, but all of those are very normal puppy behaviors and can be modified with positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviors and gentle redirections. Cece is a cutie patootie of a beauty, if you are ready to roll with this girl, call the shelter today!
