This St. Bernard mix defies both odds and expectations. To meet Cayenne you would not believe she spent the first year of her life living in a small cage filled with her own feces. When her &#34;owner&#34; was charged with animal cruelty she graduated to being tied on a chain in the desert heat. Concerned neighbors came to the rescue of her, her three siblings and two other dogs when the &#34;owner&#34; was arrested and sentenced to time in jail. Unfortunately, that &#34;freedom&#34; meant cutting them loose to fend for themselves unwilling to be touched by people. When we got the call we knew we had to help and after a grueling 10 days were able to safely secure them all.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Cayenne&#39;s start was full of fear but her desire to trust and be loved was intense for a dog who had clearly had a rough beginning. Once safe, her confidence, eagerness to please, absolute desire for affection and food drive blossomed and is a joy to experience. She LOVES to be touched. She&#39;ll meet you with a tail wag, loves to give sweet kisses and will make you smile. She is a gentle giant but due to her size and young age is still learning feet stay on the ground but is a dream on the leash and sits quick for treats. She has rarely met a person she didn&#39;t love, however, is afraid of little feet so older children only please.
