Cato - COMING SOON

Cato is a 2 year old (DOB 8/7/24) Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix . He is new to the rescue and is scheduled to be updated on all vaccinations, be heartworm tested, neutered and microchipped on October 2nd and will be available for adoption shortly after.<br/><br/>Cato came to us as an owner surrender. Cato's original owner passed away. A friend of hers took him in, but she was working long hours and Cato was left alone a lot and she didn't think that was fair to him, so she did the right thing and surrendered him to us.<br/><br/>Cato is truly a wonderful dog. Volunteers from the rescue are currently fostering him. The foster home has two other small breed dogs. Cato loves to play with them, so a home with another young, small dog would be required. He is a friendly dog and adjusted quickly to his new foster home. He loves to play with toys - he will play by himself, but LOVES for you to play with him. He loves being in the yard and have the ability to run around, so a fenced yard is required. He is housebroken. His foster home doesn't have children, but his previous owner advised that he is good with kids.<br/><br/>Because of his young age, the ideal home would be with a young, active family to help match his playful energy. <br/><br/>Cato will require regular grooming.<br/><br/>If you are interested in meeting Cato, we are anticipating that he will be at our Meet and Greet event on Sunday, October 4th at Pet Supplies Plus in Howell (2649 E. Grand River) on Sundays from 11-2 as long as he is doing well after his surgery on Friday. <br/><br/>It is helpful for you to bring pictures and/or videos of your backyard fenced area.
