Cato’s FAQs

What is Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA of Manatee County’s adoption process?

***Covid-19 Update: We are operating by appointment only. We can be reached at 941-792-2863. To adopt, you’ll need to bring in 3 things: 1. A photo ID. If you present a military ID, you will receive a reduced adoption fee. 2. Payment. We accept cash, check or credit (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) 3. Your children or pets. We encourage meet and greets to make sure you’re adopting the perfect pet for your family. The fee for cats and dogs includes spaying or neutering, microchipping and microchip registration, up-to-date vaccinations, collar, leash for dogs, cardboard carrier for cats and rabbits, tag, and a certificate for one free check-up with our shelter veterinarian. Our dogs are tested for heart worm, and our cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. All rabbits are spayed/neutered.
