Catalina's Story

Meet Catalina ("Cat")!

If you believe the quietest hearts often have the most love to give, Catalina is waiting to meet you.

Affectionately known as Cat, this beautiful 10-year-old Chihuahua weighs just 7 pounds and is one of the many little survivors rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation involving 130 dogs. The world is still a little overwhelming for her, so she's understandably nervous with new people. But with patience, kindness, and the comfort of another confident little dog, Cat continues to make progress every day.

She needs one or more friendly small dogs in her forever home. Having canine companions helps her feel safe and gives her the confidence to keep discovering that life can be full of good things.

Cat is potty pad trained, crate trained, and rides well in the car. She enjoys spending time in a securely fenced yard, where she can explore at her own pace. Leashes are still a work in progress, so her new family should be happy to let her learn when she's ready. Cats are unknown, and because she's easily overwhelmed, she's looking for a home without children.

One of Cat's sweetest quirks is her adorable little mini howl when she'd like a bit of attention. It's tiny, precious, and guaranteed to make you smile. When she's not asking for a little love, you'll often find her happily curled up in a soft dog bed or snuggled beneath a cozy blanket-comfort is definitely one of her favorite things.

With her beautiful coloring, gentle spirit, and quiet charm, Catalina is the kind of dog who doesn't demand the spotlight. Instead, she quietly steals your heart one small victory at a time.

If you have a peaceful home, a friendly little dog (or two!), and the patience to let love bloom at its own pace, Catalina will reward you with something truly special: the trust of a dog who has finally found her safe place.
Please apply here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog

Her minimum adoption donation amount is $275 She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.

We are located in Bloomington, IL
We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state.
Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt.

Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers.
