Castle's Story

CASTLE is a beautiful Husky mix who is just 1 year old and 46 pounds
He's the kind of dog who is discovering how wonderful life can be, and it is honestly a joy to watch!

This sweet & beautiful boy loves EVERY person he meets and greets new friends with a wagging tail and happy heart. He's living with an awesome Foster family and they share that he's dog-friendly, loves to play, and is learning more and more every day from his foster siblings.
Castle's highlights:
* Loves other dogs and enjoys playtime
* Super friendly - Never met a stranger
* Does great with kids who have respectful dog manners
* Excellent on leash
* Great car rider
* Food motivated and eager to learn
* Starting to discover the fun of toys
* Learning house manners and making great potty-training progress
* Sleeps quietly through the night
* Loves zooming around the yard

Castle thrives with structure and routine. He loves knowing what's nextwhether that's his morning walk, evening stroll, dinner time, or hanging out with his people.
He's still figuring out a few things. TVs are a little weird. Jumping into the car isn't his favorite. And while he's allowed on the furniture, nobody told Castle that yet, so you'll usually find him curled up peacefully on the floor instead.

A home with another playful dog would be a huge bonus for Castle, but it's not a requirement. More than anything, he's looking for a family that will continue helping him build confidence, experience new things, and enjoy being a dog.

Castle is so ready for a family of his own. One that will give him adventures, consistency, and all the love he deserves. He's healthy and up to date on all his vaccinations. Are you ready to make Castle part of your kingdom? . Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get more info on him and we can send you LOTS of video of him too.

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
