Cassie's Story

Cassie was an owner surrender due to a family losing their housing situation. She is the perfect Saint Bernard. She is house trained, gentle, kind, well trained and well behaved. We have not introduced her to our dogs yet just because of lack of time. She will be spayed on 3/9/22 and we will be getting a heart worm test and getting her up to date on her vaccinations at that time. She is microchipped. Cassie is approximately 110 pounds, and we are told she was born 12/2019. Cassie is slight positive for heart worms and the preferred treatment is the slow kill method using Advantage Multi monthly for the next 6-12 months. After that time the new adoptive family should be able to get a heart worm negative result from their Veterinarian. It is not guaranteed, but it usually works for those results.

In concern for families with small children, we will not adopt a dog to a home with any child under the age of 5. This is due to the large size of Saint Bernards and the safety of your children. Our Saint Bernards are not aggressive or mean in any way, they can just knock down children easily. St. Cloud Rescue is a non-profit 501-c-3 organization. St. Clouds Rescue requires new owners to purchase a one year supply of heartworm preventative from us, which is at cost. We require a home visit prior to all placements. All our dogs must be microchipped at a cost of $20.00. There is a $300.00 donation fee. All dogs adopted through St Clouds Rescue must be indoors. St. Bernards can not tolerate the Texas heat.
