Casper's Story

I'm Casper! I am a 15-pound, 3-year old male Dachshund. I am a wise fellow who knows how to get his chill on. I just arrived at Hudson Paws.
Casper is a 5-year-old Dachshund weighing about 15 pounds, and he's a gentle, soulful little guy who truly knows how to relax. With his wise eyes and calm demeanor, Casper brings a quiet kind of comfort -- the kind that makes you slow down and appreciate the simple moments.

He absolutely melts into affection, especially when it comes to gentle back rubs -- he'll practically "purr" with contentment as he soaks up the love. Casper is happiest when he's lounging in a cozy spot or basking in the sunshine with his favorite person nearby.

Casper has experienced a lot of change over the past few months, having been moved around several times, and he's ready for something he hasn't had in a while: stability. Because of this, he would do best in a peaceful, predictable home where he can feel safe and settled.

While walking on leash isn't something he likes, Casper is perfectly content enjoying a quieter lifestyle -- relaxing at home, spending time in a yard or sunny spot, and simply being near his person.

With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, Casper will blossom into a deeply devoted companion. He's the perfect match for someone looking for a low-key, loving little dog who will happily keep you company through life's quieter moments.

About Dachshunds - Dachshunds are small dogs with big personalities. Originally bred to hunt, they are clever, curious, and surprisingly brave. They form strong bonds with their people and love being close -- whether that's following you from room to room or curling up beside you to relax. While they can have an independent streak, Dachshunds thrive in homes that offer consistency, patience, and plenty of affection. They're just as happy enjoying a sunny spot or cozy couch as they are exploring their surroundings, making them wonderful companions for those who appreciate both their spunky spirit and their love of downtime.

Could Casper be the perfect match for you?

Vaccinations Up to Date: Yes

Microchipped: No

Neutered: No

Good on Leash: No

Good with Kids: Unknown

Good with Other Dogs: Yes

Good with Cats: Unknown

Potty Trained: Yes

Special Needs: Due to recent changes in his life, Casper is nervous and needs patience and lots of love!
