Cash's Story

Cash is ready for walks, naps, and a family to love.

Cash is a 2-year-old Blue Tick Coonhound mix (about 65 lbs) with a big heart, a goofy personality, and the perfect balance of adventure buddy and couch nap partner. He’s a confident, social, and loving boy who truly enjoys being around people and is always ready for his next walk, game of fetch, or snack break.

Cash is the kind of dog who makes fast friends — he loves meeting new people and greets everyone with a happy, eager attitude. He’s energetic and playful but also knows how to relax and settle in for some well-earned downtime after his exercise. Think: active best friend by day, nap enthusiast by afternoon.

He does well with children and enjoys being part of the action, and while he enjoys other dogs, he doesn’t necessarily need another dog in the home to be happy. He could live with a dog with proper introductions, but he’d also thrive as someone’s one-and-only adventure companion.

Cash is mostly potty trained, crate trained (though he may whine a little at first), and he’s learning his leash manners — he can pull occasionally but is very manageable with consistency and gentle guidance. He responds well to positive reinforcement and enjoys learning when treats are involved.

Because he’s a smart, active hound with a high prey drive, Cash will need a home committed to structured exercise and continued training. He’d do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs and explore. No cats for this handsome guy.

Cash would thrive with an adopter who enjoys being active and wants a loyal, fun companion to share life with — someone who will give him guidance, consistency, and lots of love.

Cash at a glance:
• Blue Tick Coonhound mix
• ~2 years old
• ~65 lbs
• Confident, social & affectionate
• High-energy but also loves naps
• Great with kids
• Dog friendly (proper intros recommended)
• No cats (high prey drive)
• Mostly potty trained & crate trained
• Learns well with positive reinforcement
• Would love a home with a yard

Cash is ready to find the people who will give him the structure, love, and adventures he’s been waiting for. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
