Cash's Story
Through no fault of his own, sweet, super-friendly Cash has had three homes in his short life of one year. His last owner surrendered him to rescue because of a housing pet policy issue. He is currently about 15 lbs.

Cash is eager to meet new people of all ages and seems to like other dogs and cats. He is confident in new environments, trusts quickly, and will roll over for belly rubs to anyone willing to supply them. He did great at his first adoption event, and a busy, sometimes loud store didn't faze him. He seemed to crave and appreciate attention and even thrive amongst the commotion.

Cash hasn't had a stable environment and is still very puppy-like so needs a good bit of training. Like many small dogs, we are told Cash tends to bark when left alone and loves to chew, so more crate training may be beneficial. Again, he has had no boundaries explained to him, but is willing and quick to learn. He does know "sit".

Even though we were told he had never been crated, he handled crating at the adoption event and during travel with no complaint. Even though he was never potty-trained, he didn't mess in his crate or in the store, and immediately did his business on a tree when taken out.

He is high energy, eager to explore, and hasn't had leash training, so does tend to pull. He is young and strong, and has been known to climb short fences, so can possibly be a flight risk.

Cash will need a secure fence, lots of exercise and someone willing to do some overdue basic training. He will need other furry companions or someone who either works from home or can spend a good bit of time with him, at least in the beginning, until he builds more confidence.

We are confident that Cash will be a loving, loyal and entertaining companion!

Check back here and on our FB site as we learn more about Cash!

WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.

If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.

ADOPTION FEE of $540 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.

We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage or our
FB site to find out where we will be this week.

Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
