Carter's Story

MEET CARTER — FROM A SCARED BOY TO A HAPPY, PLAYFUL PUP!
When Carter and his sister were found abandoned at the Elk River, they were both incredibly frightened. They didn't understand why they had been left behind or who they could trust.
But thankfully, their story didn't end there.
With patience, kindness, and lots of love, Carter has learned that people can be good and that he is safe. The scared little puppy who first came to us has blossomed into a friendly, happy boy who is ready for a family of his very own!
Carter is believed to be a Labrador Retriever mix, possibly with some Canaan Dog in his family tree. Our vet estimates him to be about 512 months old, and he currently weighs around 30 pounds.
And this boy has discovered one of his absolute FAVORITE things...
WATER!
Whether it's a kiddie pool or a garden hose, Carter is ALL IN! If there's water involved, you can bet Carter is probably right in the middle of it having the time of his life!
Carter also loves his toys and is perfectly happy entertaining himself. Give this boy some toys and he'll find a way to keep himself busy.
He's still a young pup, so he's working on his puppy manners and will need leash training and potty training. But he's already showing us that he's a smart boy because he knows SIT!
Carter's journey is a beautiful reminder of what a little patience and love can do. He went from being a terrified puppy who didn't know what was happening to a happy boy who enjoys playing, splashing in the water, and discovering what life has to offer.
Now Carter is ready for the very best part of his journey — finding a forever family who will never abandon him and will love him for all the years to come
Carter is Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, on flea and tick prevention and micro-chipped. $95 rescue adoption fee applies.
