Carson

CARSON is a 6 year old Portuguese Water Dog who is fun-loving guy looking for a family with breed experience. Carson has some resource guarding behavior and will bite if pushed or feels he is being invaded. Without high-dollar toys or bones, he is super pleasant but, due to his resource guarding, he will only be placed in a dog savvy home without young children. Carson does well with cats and gets along with most dogs. He has been great with the dogs we have introduced to him at the rescue but is over-reactive when he sees dogs on his walks, to the point of biting the leash in frustration. We are working on redirecting his behavior and his new family must continue to work with him Carson prefers women over men, warming up quickly to our female volunteers. He takes longer to trust men and is nervous if they make a quick movement towards him before they have earned his trust. We would like a home for Carson where he will get his RDA of mental and physical exercise!
