Carol Ann's Story

Carol Ann is a loving, intelligent and resilient girl. This beautiful dog came to our sanctuary after "her time had run out" at an animal control facility. She had been picked up by animal control because she was running at large as a stray and no one claimed her. While we don't know much about her history, it appears as though she's had at least a couple of litters of puppies. Despite all she's been through, Carol Ann is one of the friendliest dogs we have ever known. She loves people, including children and has done well socializing with other dogs at our sanctuary. For now, we are going to say a cat-free home because although she doesn't exhibit a lot of prey drive toward cats, she does NOT like it when they smack her in the face. She is sweet, but she is no pushover! Some of Carol Ann's favorite things include: long hikes, riding in the truck, figuring out food puzzles and snuggling. She walks really well on leash and is incredibly athletic. She loves to cuddle and will snuggle up next to you when you're watching T.V. Carol Ann does ok when left alone, but she would do best in a home where she is not alone for significant periods of time-she loves being with people. She is so well behaved she's the type of dog that you could take to work. Our best guess is that she is around 4-5 years old. She is as sweet as they come!

Celebration of Canine Lives Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
We have potential adopters fill out a detailed application. If the dog and the potential adopter's appear to be well-matched, we contact three of the applicants personal references and one veterinary reference. Then we call the potential adopter to discuss the application and set up a time for him/her to meet the pet. Depending on the pet's personality, we may require the adopter to come to our sanctuary and get to know him/her several times before taking the pet home. We will also conduct in-person home visits for every adoption. If all goes smoothly, we will have the adopter sign a legally-binding contract. If for any reason and at any time the adopter can no longer keep the pet, he/she is required to return the pet to our sanctuary.
