Carmen's Story
Carmen has spent her life in a revolving door between the shelter and her owner's home. Miri's stepped in to stop the revolution, and now she's ready to find a permanent home that is full of the love she deserves.

She gets along with other dogs and loves people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. She walks politely on the leash, rides happily in the car, and generally sleeps peaceably through the night. She can be trusted not to get into mischief when left home alone. Her exercise needs are fairly minimal -- she's happy just to go where you go. She prefers being carried up/down the stairs.

Carmen appears to be deaf, has limited vision, and has kidney disease, for which she's on a special diet. She also has some arthritis in her hindquarters that makes walking a little stiff. Despite all of this, she is sweet-tempered and optimistic about her future.

Likes- comfy blankets, trundling around the yard, a full food bowl, pats/scritches.
Dislikes- baths, being held/snuggled, hard kibbles.
She is known for her iconic underbite and her excited dance at dinnertime.

Carmen is working on her potty training. For now, she still has occasional accidents in the house. Some potty pads may help her adjust.

Carmen will need a little time to adjust to her new home. But if you're willing to give her some space and patience, she will reward you by watching you adoringly and hanging out with you.

Carmen is approx 15 years old and 15 lbs.
Fostered in Lothian, MD.
Please apply at mirishaven.org.
