Carlos's Story

Young Dog with Old Soul Energy

Carlos is 7 months old, but spiritually? He’s somewhere between a porch-sittin’ grandpa and a man who’s already got a favorite chair picked out. This kid came off the streets of a Mexican border town and said, “you know what… I’m gonna handle this with grace.”

At about 30 lbs, he’s that perfect in-between size—substantial, but still easy to have around. He moves through life like he’s already learned what matters, and none of it involves chaos.

Carlos is sweet in that quiet, steady way that builds on you. He’s affectionate, loves a good hug (the lean-in, stay-there kind), and he’s always tuned into his people. The type to check in like, “we all good here?”—and mean it.

He’s obedient, eager to please, and already has that natural awareness that most puppies are still trying to figure out. You ask, he listens. You move, he notices. He’s paying attention in a way that feels easy, not forced.

Energy-wise, he’s got that rare setting: puppy, but make it peaceful. He’ll happily romp in the yard, play with other dogs (he would love a dog sibling), and then come inside and settle like he’s been doing it his whole life. Stretch out. Window watch. Mind his business. Be part of the room without needing to run it.

Life with Carlos looks like this: a calm presence moving through your day, a dog who chooses to be near you, not on you, and a quiet kind of companionship that just fits.

Some dogs take time to grow into themselves—Carlos already has.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Carlos is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
