Carlie's Story

Meet Carlie – Resilient, Rowdy, and Ready for Her Forever Home!

Carlie is a 9-month-old survivor with a heart full of love and legs that don’t always cooperate. She came to us with a broken back, but you’d never know it—except when she runs like a goofy little goofball or struggles to hop onto furniture. She can’t jump up, but she will jump at you when she’s thrilled to see you.

Carlie is still very much a puppy—meaning she will chew on anything she can find, chase the cat when the mood hits, and forget her potty training now and then. She’s mostly house-trained, sleeps on a bed next to her foster’s at night (she hates the crate then), and stays crated during the workday.

She walks well on a leash but is still nervous about passing cars. She’s not food aggressive, eats freely, and plays hard. Carlie loves big. She plays rough with other dogs and gets very excited, which makes her a poor fit for toddlers but a dream playmate for an older kid who wants a buddy for tug-of-war and fetch.

She’s sweet, energetic, and a little wild. She’s also toy-protective and needs structure, patience, and someone who’ll help her keep growing into the amazing dog she’s becoming.

Carlie’s looking for a home that can handle her quirks and love her for the unstoppable spirit she is.
