Carla's Story

Carla
Shepherd Mix
Female
2.5 yo
50lbs
Dogs

Carla is a wiggly, silly, and happy girl. She's a great work-from-home companion, keeping you company under the desk, but she'll be ready to go when it's time to stretch your legs for a walk. She recently discovered how amazing evenings on the couch are. She takes to training like she's the smartest kid in the class. Carla is an intelligent introvert who would love a family to hang with. A family who will challenge her just enough to keep her from getting bored but not too much action to cut into her lounging time!

Mission Compassion Paw Rescue's Adoption Policy
MCP is a Chicago foster based rescue. We focus on dogs who need extra advocacy, including: Pit bull-type dogs, senior animals, animals with medical or behavioral needs, and bonded pairs. We don’t view adoption as placing animals, we view it as welcoming new humans into our Pack. Because of this, our process is intentionally thoughtful and hands-on. Many approved applications ultimately result in us recommending a different dog with stronger match potential. This is part of our responsibility as advocates and something we are known and respected for. Our adoption process typically includes at least three meetings (often more) to ensure a strong, lasting match. These meetings allow time to build a relationship, communicate openly, and support a healthy transition. We are full disclosure, we know our animals well and are honest about their needs. We're hands-on from first meet-and-greet through decompression and beyond, and we are comfortable saying no at any point if the fit isn’t right. We look for organic connections and humans who understand that successful Forever relationships take time, patience, and commitment. Going slow matters to us, for our animals and for our humans. Important Adoption Expectations: All potential adopters are expected to meet their match at least three times with all household members participating in the process. Out-of-state adoptions may be considered for exceptional matches only. Multiple visits to the Chicagoland area are required. We do not ship animals. We do not allow: Gifting animals, surprise adoptions, or any adoptions without full household involvement. Adoption Fees: Dogs: $600 | Bonded pairs: $900 | Cats: $250, $325 for a pair We hold our animals and our humans close. Quality over quantity. Always.
