Carl's Story

*We will not be hosting an adoption event on May 2nd. Instead, we will offer private adoption appointments for approved applicants April 27-May 3.*

Meet Carl, a small dog with a huge heart! In his short time in Colorado, he’s embraced the active, outdoorsy lifestyle and is loving every minute of it. Carl absolutely adores other animals—there isn’t a dog he doesn’t want to play with—and his high energy makes him a great fit for a home that can keep him engaged with regular walks and, ideally, future hiking adventures.

At just seven months old, Carl is still learning the ropes and would benefit from continued training, but he already has a great foundation. He walks nicely on leash, knows “sit,” and waits so politely for treats—taking them ever so gently like a little gentleman. When he gets excited, he may jump to say hello, so a home with older kids would likely be the best fit.

Carl is very curious about his temporary cat sister and would love to play, though she doesn’t quite share his enthusiasm! With proper introductions and an adjustment period, there’s a strong chance he could do well with feline companions. With regular potty breaks, he’s also been making great progress on house training.

Above all, Carl is incredibly sweet—he loves giving kisses, wrapping his paws around your arm for a hug, and being close to his people. He’s ready to bring his joyful, affectionate energy to a home of his own.

Carl is a 7-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $500 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and neuter. Carl is also tested with other dogs, cats, children, and potty and kennel trained. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).

For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned.

Thank you for choosing adoption!
