Hi, I'm Carmel, an eight month old chocolate Lab mix with soft brown eyes, white-tipped toes, and a heart that's just waiting to belong to someone. I can be a little shy when I first meet you, but it doesn't take long before my sweet side shines through. Once I know I'm safe, I lean right in for attention, because being close to my people feels pretty wonderful. <br/><br/>I'm a spayed girl, about 35 pounds, and do well with dogs. I seem to have a gentle way about me that makes me a good friend and playmate. When I went to the vet recently to be checked over, I was such a good girl that they called me a model patient. I'm healthy, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, treated for parasites, and more than ready to leave my stray days behind.<br/><br/>What I really want now is a family that will give me a little patience at first, then watch me blossom into the loving companion I'm meant to be.
