Captain *SPONSORED*'s Story

Meet Captain - our longest resident and a true comeback story.

Captain’s journey is one of resilience and transformation. After spending over nine months in animal control - waiting, fading, and nearly forgotten - our amazing friends at Hank’s Heroes helped pull him to safety. From there, Captain’s life truly began. Since joining our rescue, Captain has had cherry eye surgery, completed our professional training program, and blossomed into the goofy, lovable dog he was always meant to be.

-3 years old
-80 lb meatball of love
-Neutered & up to date on vaccinations
-Professionally trained
-Great in public settings
-Loves people & human companionship
-Does well with older kids
-$0 adoption fee (if foster-to-adopt placement becomes permanent)

Even though Captain will need to be your only pet, he still does very well out in public if in the vicinity of other dogs. - He just doesn't want to cohabit and share his space with them. Due to thorough training, he's an absolute rockstar - confident, friendly, and happy to meet new people. And did we mention he LOVES toys? This guy plays perfect fetch and is always down for a game!

Because he sometimes forgets just how big and strong he is, we recommend a home without small children. In the right environment, Captain is sweet, silly, loyal, and endlessly affectionate...the kind of dog who will happily become your whole world.

We are currently seeking a FOSTER or FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home for Captain.
And if his foster family decides he’s “the one,” his adoption fee is already covered. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion who’s overcome the odds and is ready to be your best friend, Captain is waiting to meet you. 💙

Please apply to foster here: https://form.jotform.com/252927582638167
