Captain John's Story

Captain John came in as an owner surrender on 9-12-26.

Captain is about 5 years old. He is a little nervous at first but warms up quickly. Once he knows you, he will run up to you excited that you're coming to meet him and he loves to be held. In a home he does love to sleep in bed with you and be with you at all times. Since he is shy, a quiet family or person without children would probably be best. He did previously live with cats, dogs and chickens and seems to like them.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
