Captain's Story

This California boy is ready for his forever home in the mountains! Captain comes to us from a shelter in Modesto California. Unfortunately, the shelter environment wasn’t suitable for this guy. He was overstimulated and acting out. His behavior put him in danger and at only 2 ½ years old his name was added to the euthanasia list. Thanks to the sponsorship from Rarebreed treats, and Komfy K9, Captain secured a cozy room at OBDRS. He was pulled from the shelter less than 24 hours before his time was up! Now, it’s no secret that we have a soft spot for the bully breeds, but there is something that makes this guy extra special. Turns out Captain is visually impaired, which explains his bold behavior at the shelter. Although, it doesn’t seem that he was born this way, the cause of his blindness isn’t clear to us. Captain needs help learning how to navigate the world with his nose and ears. He needs the proper amount of space and patience when meeting new dogs. The world looks a little different from his eyes, he needs a dog savvy human who is willing to give him the TLC he needs. We understand that Captain is a work in progress so be reassured that OBDRS will be there to support him through his journey. If Captain’s story speaks to your heart, please reach out to us today! You can call our office at 970-349-5047 or send us an email at ohbedogfulrescue@gmail.com
