Captain

8/1/21: We've decided that Captain is ready to look for his forever home! This very friendly boy has not had an easy life, judging by the horrible condition he was in upon arriving at the county shelter....covered in fleas, hair loss, hair mats, eyes so gooey he couldn't see out of them, and lots of internal issues. He looks SO much better now, thanks to some Veterinary care and his wonderful Foster Mommy! Captain is a 9 year old Shih Tzu, who gets along well with other dogs and is very friendly with children. He is house trained and crate-<br/>trained, and loves to be around his Foster Mom so we are looking for a family that can spend lots of time with him! Due to neglect from his previous owner, Captain is Heart Worm+, but is going through the slow kill treatment. He has chronic "dry eyes" and will need to be on eye drops for the rest of his life, as well as significant corneal pigmentation, which has some effect on his vision. He is able to navigate around quite well though! Captain does seem to have some allergies but allergy medicine is helping. The Vet believes that he has some mild arthritis as well.
