CANYON's Story

Meet Canyon!

If you're looking for an adventure buddy with a playful spirit and an endless zest for life, Canyon may just be your perfect match!

This handsome 1-year-old boy is full of energy and loves being out and about. Whether it's a stroll through the neighborhood, a hike through open space, or a game of fetch in the yard, Canyon is always ready for his next adventure. His foster family takes him on 4–5 walks a day ranging from half a mile to two miles, and he enthusiastically trots along every step of the way.

One of Canyon's favorite things is exploring grassy areas. In fact, during one of his first walks through an open space, he did the cutest thing—he launched himself into the tall grass like an arctic fox hunting in the snow! It was a hilarious and adorable glimpse into his playful personality.

While Canyon loves being active outdoors, he's also capable of settling down nicely indoors. When it's time to relax, he happily entertains himself with his Kong ball, tossing it into the air, pouncing on it, and batting it around like it's the most exciting game in the world.

Canyon is a social butterfly who believes everyone is a potential friend. He loves meeting new people and dogs and is always excited to say hello. He is fully house-trained and has done wonderfully with his potty habits in foster care.

Like many young dogs, Canyon is still working on a few manners. He can get a little enthusiastic and may jump up to greet people when he's excited. He also loves other dogs so much that if he can't stop to say hello, he may voice his disappointment with an adorable but enthusiastic whine. Because of his strong prey drive and excitement for the world around him, he is interested in chasing moving things like bikes, birds, squirrels, and runners, so continued training and management will help him continue to thrive.

To top it all off, Canyon has one ear that stands straight up and one that flops over, giving him an irresistibly charming look that's sure to make you smile.

Canyon is looking for an active family who will embrace his adventurous spirit, continue his training, and include him in all of life's fun. In return, he'll provide endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and plenty of love.
