Canelo

NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston.

__________________________________________________________________________________

Meet Canelo!

Canelo is a loving 10.4-pound chihuahua. Surrendered, along with his brother when his family was deported, Canelo is looking for his forever home where he can be cherished and loved for the great dog he is.

Canelo is about 7 1/2 years old. With the average lifespan of a chihuahua being
12 to 20 years old, Canelo has lots of years left to provide his family with chihuahua love.

Canelo has a big personality for his compact size. He is loyal, alert, lively and often a little sassy. He is more of a couch potato rather than an athlete. His fitness level is a bit low, but he likes short daily walks and indoor play. He is the perfect snuggly dog. Canelo is always smiling and loves hugs. He is a happy, joyful companion!

Canelo is neutered, crate-trained and potties outside on a schedule. Like many chihuahuas, Canelo has opinions, and, from time-to-time will communicate with his tiny-man little bark. Canelo gets along with small and medium sized dogs but is a little intimidated by some of the larger 70+ pound dogs at the rescue ranch. He loves to play in the yard, and once introduced properly, he loves all breeds and sizes of play companions.

Canelo is microchipped, fully vaccinated and neutered. He will benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $350 plus $30 for a health certificate and $260 for transport.

Please complete the application on this link:

https://forms.gle/FKSMBuoGTujaTkun8

Or email Sandra.ttr.tx@gmail.com for a link to the application.

Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet him.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will be updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.

We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
