Canela's Story

Known for their intelligence, loyalty, and high energy, Kelpies are active companions who thrive with people who enjoy outdoor activities—and Canela is no exception.

She walks well on a leash and is very social with dogs and people alike—men, women, and strangers don’t make her nervous at all. In fact, she’s incredibly friendly and affectionate. Canela has a playful and funny personality—she’ll even jump up as if she were a tiny Chihuahua, hoping to be picked up and cuddled!

Canela is energetic, curious, and always ready for fun. She would be an ideal companion for someone who enjoys walks, exercise, or an active lifestyle. Whether it’s exploring new places or simply spending time together, she brings joy and excitement wherever she goes.

Like many young and intelligent dogs, Canela can get bored if she doesn’t have enough stimulation. She may chew on objects—especially plastic—so providing toys and guidance will help her thrive. She may also bark when she hears unfamiliar noises, as she is naturally alert and aware of her surroundings.

Her story began on an autumn afternoon, when she was found alone playing in the street. No one in the neighborhood recognized her, and fearing for her safety, she was taken in to protect her from potential harm. Since then, she has shown nothing but love, resilience, and a wonderful spirit.

Canela is ready to find a forever home where she can share her energy, affection, and loyal heart. With the right family, she will make an incredibly devoted and fun-loving companion.

A D O P T I O N P R O T O C O L

How Our Adoptions Work :)

Step 1: Fill out our adoption form.
Send us photos/videos of your home so we know your future furry friend will be safe.
(No home review = we can’t process your application.)

Step 2: If it’s a match, we’ll call or video chat, introduce you to the pet, and take a virtual home tour.

Step 3: We’ll speak with 1–2 of your references.

Step 4: If approved, you’ll sign the adoption contract, adoption fee until your pet arrives.
This fee helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, food & more—so your pet is ready to come home!

Every step helps us make sure our pets find loving, forever homes.
Apply today:

https://form.jotform.com/253506699264064

Please, it is very important to send photos and video of your home in order to take your request into account and speed up a response on whether it is a viable adoption.

*Transportation Process: Door-to-Door Delivery! *^*

We're excited to bring your new furry friend to your home door! As a result, they may require an adjustment period in a foster or permanent home. Patience and understanding are *absolutely crucial* when dealing with rescued dogs.

*Why is patience important?*

- Rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences
- They need time to adapt to new environments and people
- Patience and understanding can help build trust and strengthen the bond between the dog and their new owner

*How can you help?*

- Be patient and understanding with the dog during the adjustment period
- Provide a safe and loving environment for the dog to feel comfortable
- Establish a routine and clear boundaries to help the dog feel secure

*Together, we can make a difference:*

By understanding and supporting our rescued dogs, we can help them overcome their trauma and find a loving home where they can thrive.

** HEALTH PROTOCOL **
Spay/Neuter Certificate
2 shots of DHPPI Vaccine
Rabies Vaccine
Bordetella Vaccine
Dewormed
Microchipped
4DX Test and Certificate
Heartworm test Negative Certificate
Monthly Preventive Protection Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks and heartworm)
Health Certificate
Vaccines booklet

¡¡If wanting the perfect dog, we don’t have those here. We have so many pets in foster that it is an impossible job to house-train each one !!!**

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT OUR RESCUED PETS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT TO US. THEY ARE ANIMALS THAT ARE SINTIENT BEINGS WHO HAVE BEEN RESCUED FROM SITUATIONS OF SEVERE ABUSE, AND ABANDONMENT. WE INVEST TIME, MONEY, A LOT OF EFFORT AND EMOTIONAL STRESS FOR THEIR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL REHABILITATION, WHICH WE DO NOT MAKE ANY MONETARY CHARGE FOR THAT SOCIAL WORK.
BECAUSE OF THAT WE TRIED TO DO AN EXHAUSTIVE INVESTIGATION OF THE POSSIBLE NEW FAMILIES OF OUR BELOVED RESCUES.

¡ Doing the Right Things to Find the Right Family !

Every animal we rescue deserves a loving, safe, forever home. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously at ADAC. We are grateful to receive messages from individuals interested in adopting one of our cats or dogs, but we must take certain steps to ensure their safety, as best we can.

Every potential adopter must fill out an application and answer questions that help determine their suitability. Many of our enquiries come from outside of Mexico and we are unable to conduct a home visit. Therefore, we ask for photos of the residence as part of our due diligence. For example, if the dog in question is an escape artist, we would need to know if the yard is fenced, if you have enough space for a pet, if the conditions of the home is suitable for a pet, and a photo/video would assure us of this.

We would like to continue with the adoption protocol, for this we need to receive photos or video of your home to confirm that it is a safe and suitable place for the pet.

This information we obtain from potential adopters is shared only with members of the adoption team involved in the application. Our database is only accessible by select ADAC/ARR members, and we never share any personal information with any other organization or business.

If you are not willing to share the information we need to finalize an adoption, we invite you to explore other organizations. These animals are our family and we need to know they will be cared for as such.

We are proud to have connected many beautiful animals into loving homes. You can search in our pages on Facebook, Instagram and our Website for many examples.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Many of our dogs will receive numerous applications, and we ask for your patience during the process of finding the very best match.

Our dogs are fostered in Texas or Saltillo Mexico, but available for adoption in various cities/states.

For more information about our association please access our website at:
https://www.animalrightsrescue.com

https://www.facebook.com/almaibeth.salinas

info@animalrightsrescue.com

www.animalrightsrescue.com

ADAC-MEXICO
https://maps.app.goo.gl/cwdNtEAC1LRd8SJw8?g_st=ic

Instagram: animalrightsrescue_arr

For more information about our association please access our website at:
https://www.animalrightsrescue.com
