Meet “Nela”<br/>Athletic, affectionate, and full of potential<br/><br/>Canela arrived in December needing stability, good nutrition, and time to feel safe again. Since then, she has gained strength, confidence, and has shown us exactly who she is. An athletic, joyful, and incredibly affectionate young Belgian Malinois who loves being part of life and engaging with the world around her.<br/><br/>She has settled beautifully into foster care and is ready for her next chapter. Nela is enthusiastic, capable, and thrives with structure, engagement, and regular interaction. Because of her athleticism and enthusiastic play style, she would do best in a home without young children.<br/><br/>Health and Care<br/>Nela has made great progress but has some GI sensitivity. She is currently doing well on a half fresh food and half kibble diet, and her adopter will need to be willing to continue this and commit to working through any future GI hiccups that may come up. Maintaining a fresh, consistent diet has made all the difference for her.<br/><br/>Her Ideal Home<br/>Nela is looking for a dedicated, loving partner who enjoys an active dog and wants to continue building on how far she has come. She is not a first-dog situation and would thrive with another young, playful dog or in a home interested in training or activities. She is not suited for being left alone for a full eight-hour workday on a regular basis.<br/><br/>Her foster will be moving out of state in a couple of months, so we are looking for the home where her story continues forward instead of starting over again.
