Candyland's Story

Meet Candyland

Candyland has been thriving in foster care since February 2025, and in that time she has truly blossomed into an incredibly sweet, gentle, and joyful companion.
Candy is a certified foodie who lives for chicken, peanut butter, ice cream, and Himalayan chews - but fair warning: bananas are absolutely not her thing. Her personality is just as expressive as her taste buds. She's affectionate, playful, and patient, with a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around.

Adventures & Outings
Candy loves car rides - open a door and she's hopping in, ready for the next adventure. She's gone on long drives just for fun and even enjoyed a day trip to the Ocean City, NJ beaches. While she loved the sights and sounds, Candy made it very clear that sand on her coat (and especially her nose) is not her favorite, and the ocean was far colder than her cozy bath water at home. Upcoming adventures include Ridley Creek State Park, Valley Forge Park, and the Schuylkill River Trail.
She's also been exploring new environments with help from friends and their dogs, enjoying city walks, hiking trails, and a recent outing on the Wissahickon Trail.

At Home
Candy is an absolute sweetheart indoors. She has only barked a handful of times in several months and has been fully house-trained since her second day in foster. She reliably lets her people know when she needs to go out and enjoys 3-6 walks per day of varying lengths.
She is crate trained, does not have accidents in the crate, and settles well. Candy is respectful of her space, playful when it's time to have fun, and incredibly loving the rest of the time.

People & Kids
Candy is gentle, kind, and affectionate with everyone she meets. She is especially impressive with children and is learning how to appropriately greet toddlers with patience and softness, adjusting her energy beautifully. She takes treats gently, shows no food aggression, and maintains her charm well beyond first impressions.
Ideal Home
Candyland would do best in:
A home where she is the only dog
A household with kids over 5 years old
People who enjoy walks, adventures, and staying active
Someone who wants a loving, affectionate dog
A family who doesn't mind a bed-sharing cuddle buddy

Candyland is truly one of those dogs whose sweetness is hard to measure. She's loving, fun, gentle, and deeply connected to her people. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's always ready for an adventure - and even more ready to snuggle - Candyland may be your perfect match.

VIDEO:
Candyland catches treats! https://youtube.com/shorts/wApcxt6qnNw

If you are interested in adopting Candyland submit an application or reach out to foster@acctphilly.org
