Introducing Candy <br/><br/> Age: ~2 years<br/> Location: Foster Home<br/> Spayed: Yes<br/><br/>Candy didn't come to us knowing what it felt like to be<br/>loved.<br/><br/>She came in as a stray, just trying to survive...raising<br/>seven babies on her own, unsure of people and doing<br/>everything she could to keep her distance. Even after<br/>being brought into rescue, she didn't trust us. She<br/>didn't want to be touched. She didn't want to come<br/>inside. At one point, she even escaped because being<br/>close to people was just too overwhelming.<br/><br/>But her story didn't end there.<br/><br/>With time, patience, and a foster who refused to give<br/>up on her, Candy began to change. Little by little, she<br/>started to feel safe. And then something incredible<br/>happened...<br/><br/>She started choosing people.<br/><br/>Now, Candy is crate trained, house trained, and living<br/>in a home where she's learning what it means to be<br/>part of a family. She gets along well with other dogs, is<br/>respectful around cats, and has even begun to seek out<br/>affection from her foster and their 9-year-old son.<br/><br/>She's still a softer, more sensitive soul-but that's what<br/>makes her so special. Every bit of love she gives is<br/>something she had to learn to trust.<br/><br/>Candy is heartworm positive and on the slow kill<br/>treatment, and she has a calm, moderate energy level<br/>that fits beautifully into a peaceful home.<br/><br/> Candy doesn't need a perfect home. She needs a<br/>patient one.
