Candy's Story
Meet Candy!

Candy is a 3-year-old Spaniel mix weighing about 29 pounds, and this sweet girl is ready to leave her past behind and find the loving family she deserves.

Candy came to Dogworks after being found as a stray and brought to the local shelter. She was missing an eye and limping when she arrived. Since then, she has had surgery to permanently close her empty eye socket and surgery on her injured leg. Thanks to the care she received, Candy is feeling so much better and is ready to start the next chapter of her life.

Despite everything she had been through, Candy never let it steal her joyful spirit. She is incredibly friendly, social, and absolutely loves people.

Her favorite place to be is right in your lap, belly up, soaking up all the pets she can get. She is affectionate, loyal, playful, and generous with kisses. If you toss a toy, even better—Candy loves a good game of fetch and is happy to play throughout the day.

Candy is crate trained and almost fully potty trained with only very rare accidents. She walks well on a leash and has done well living with other dogs. Because she can be a little protective around food and has occasionally nipped at other dogs, feeding separately from other pets is best.

Candy would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and play. She has never attempted to escape in her foster home and simply wants a family that will love her, play with her, and make her part of everyday life.

After everything she has endured, Candy still wakes up every day happy, trusting, and ready to love. Now all she needs is a forever family to love her back.

If you're looking for a resilient, loving companion with a playful spirit and a heart full of love, Candy may be your perfect match.

She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Her adoption fee is $350

Please follow the link below for her adoption application. Note applicants must live within one hour of Toledo Ohio.

http://www.dogworksohio.com/adoption-application.html
