Candace's Story

- Foster or Adopt Candace -

Adoption fee sponsored.

Candace is a 4 year old, 35lbs mixed breed pup (Cattle dog or wirehaired pointer mix?) who is looking for a foster home! She loves nothing more than being a loyal little shadow. She’s shy at first but once she trusts you she’ll happily follow you everywhere.

She also just has so much character! She does adorable little tippy taps. She likes making a little hoard pile dog toys. Super playful with the most expressive little scruffy face.

She’s potty trained and crate trained. On walks, she does great and is not a puller. She is also very dog friendly. Cats are not recommended as she is a chaser.

Candace’s quirk is that she is not a fan of men. She currently lives with a man in her foster home and her strategy is simple: avoid, ignore, repeat. Not aggressive but watchful and avoidant. We’re not sure if she’ll ever change her mind but our vet will be evaluating her soon for possible anxiety meds to see if that helps.

Because of this, Candace would do best in a female only foster home. It’s hard to find a foster home like this but Candy deserves a chance!

If you’re looking for a sweet, shy companion who will love you endlessly (as long as you’re not a dude), Candace just might be your girl.

Apply to foster: 4allmuttkind.org/foster
Apply to adopt: 4allmuttkind.org/adopt

Our mission is to provide a stepping stone to the most at-risk pups via a strong foster based network and training support via training vouchers to those looking to keep their pup in-home. While we can’t adopt ourselves out of our current crisis, we can provide a pawsitive impact to those pups in our care.
