RESCUING CAMO
Camo ended up at Henry County Animal Control where pit bulls are not adopted out to the public. Lucky for him, FTTF has some amazing foster families! Camo was on a foster to adopt with a family, but they decided their teenager was not pulling her weight when it came to taking care of him so they returned him. Camo had no problem adjusting to a new foster home with dogs he had never met before. This guy is solid!
ABOUT CAMO
Not only is Camo handsome, he has a wonderful temperament and fantastic, goofy personality. A Wisdom Panel DNA test revealed that he is 100% American Staffordshire Terrier. He has a medium energy level and is well-behaved. He is still relatively young and loves to play a good game of fetch. Although he is not overly demanding in his exercise requirements, he does benefit greatly from a bit of daily exercise. A simple 15 minute session of fetch with a Chuck-It is enough to keep him happy. Camo also loves toys and will entertain himself for hours with a plain and simple Kong. He still thinks he is a small puppy and is not aware of his massive size, but he is a super-snuggler and will happily lounge on the sofa with his family. He loves to roughhouse with doggie foster siblings and he even takes correction from the bossier lady in the home, however he is not suited for a home with cats.. He is rocking his house-manners and is getting better about greeting people without jumping. 'Good Boy' is his favorite phrase to hear aside from 'Are You Hungry?' Without daily exercise, a state of playful excitement is easily incited where he gets extra silly and boisterous. This is when his foster mom refers to him as 'Wreck-It-Ralph.' For this reason, Camo would prefer a home with older children since although he adores people of all size, he may unintentionally knock a small child over with his exuberance. He could probably live with smaller children, but it would take firm, consistent boundary-setting from the adults to make sure he understands he has to be calm and gentle around them. Camo can be a bit sensitive so a stern voice correction is all he needs to put his listening ears on. He is crate-trained and housebroken and requires a 6 foot privacy fenced yard. This goober-face is just a big, mushy, enthusiastic puppy who is looking for a forever family to call his own.
