Calypso 26-041's Story
Meet Calypso!
Calypso is a one-year-old Staffordshire Terrier weighing in at about 40 pounds, and she's every bit as sweet as she is adorable. With her signature underbite and constant smile, this happy girl has a way of winning hearts wherever she goes.
Calypso is a bundle of love and joy who greets everyone she meets like an old friend. She has yet to meet a person she doesn't adore, and she's equally fond of other dogs. Whether she's romping around with canine friends or simply hanging out alongside them, Calypso is happy just being part of the fun.
While she has a wonderful temperament, Calypso is still a young dog with plenty of learning ahead of her. She will thrive with an adopter who has experience with bully breeds and is committed to continuing her training, socialization, and helping her become the best companion she can be.
We don't know much about Calypso's past. She was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter, where she quickly became a favorite among both staff and volunteers thanks to her affectionate personality and infectious smile. When CARE met her, we knew she deserved a chance to find the loving forever home she'd been waiting for.
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend with a big heart and an unforgettable grin, Calypso may be the perfect addition to your family.

Calypso is fully vaccinated, spayed, & microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.

Calypso is in the Paws in Prison program, where she receives basic obedience training. She will graduate from Paws in Prison on 8/15/2026. The dogs in this program are provided basic level training under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. So, there will be an adjustment period as they adjust to their new family schedule.

For this reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal. This journal documents his arrival from the shelter, daily training progress, and interactions with the trainers.

If you are interested in meeting Calypso or learning more about our adoption process, please submit an adoption application. Thank you!

Sponsor: Amy Sixbey
